It's So Easy Once You Figure Out It Isn't Hard

Wait what?.... Have you ever thought about making changes in your life, then thought more about making those changes, and then never made those positive changes happen? It's the thought that counts right?....WRONG! At least not in this situation.

I think this is something that happens to ALL of us. We get stuck in that contemplation stage of making changes and stay in the same sad place we've always been in. We think we're not good enough, too old, too young, not deserving enough, we're scared, or think that there are so many other "better" people who could do what we want to do. I'm going to tell you right now, that's a bunch of BULL SHIT 🙈.

What makes someone else so much more capable than you? The answer is nothing. It is only our perception of ourselves that is holding us back and preventing us from making the necessary positive changes to improve our situation or reach the goals we've set for ourselves. We are fully capable of rewriting our stories and changing our current situation at any moment in time. We just have to realize that it isn't as hard as we tell ourselves... 1. Become aware of what your excuses are.

"I'm too old, I don't have enough money, I don't have time, I don't have the support, I'm not outgoing, I don't have enough will power." We call these "excuses" because that is what they are! These negative thoughts we tell ourselves are not the truth. They only become our realities when we continuously repeat them in our heads and start to believe them. Determine what your excuses are and let go. Rephrase the thoughts you tell yourself. 2. Determine what you are gaining from your excuses. Most likely you are going to be gaining NOTHING from those lame excuses except the ability to play the victim card. When you tell yourself "I'm too shy to do that" it gives you the ability to stay comfortable, stay shy, and never progress. Make the decision to stop believing the lies you tell yourself, and throw the excuses in the garbage can where they belong.

3. Get out of your routine. Once you contemplate change and are ready to actually change (yay!) it will be important to get out of your usual routine. If you continue to do things the same as you've always done, you're going to keep living the life you've always lived. Start telling yourself positive affirmations daily. It takes more than one time to get something through our thick skulls so thinking DAILY positive thoughts about ourselves will eventually lead to us believing these positive thoughts. Changing your routine can also be as simple as driving a different route to work, switching up the time of day you workout, what you eat for breakfast, not checking emails in the morning. Whatever you do, do something different.

4. Love yourself more than you love your excuses. You are worth making positive changes in your life and you are capable and deserving of the things you want to achieve. What we need to make change is available, we just have to be open, receptive, and willing to accept the opportunities that are in front of us.
